Gwen McGarry is a writer, content strategist, and the co-author of The Guide to Effective and Ethical Direct Response Creative.

She is the Senior Vice President of Creative at M+R Strategic Services, where she sets the creative vision for Planned Parenthood Federation of America, Feeding America, the Natural Resources Defense Council, and other national organizations.

Over 16 years at M+R, Gwen has led creative teams and guided complex organizations through moments of transformation, urgency, and growth. She brings together data, audience insight, and a disciplined creative process to deliver work that connects, converts, and earns long-term trust. Her campaigns have raised millions of dollars, expanded movements, shaped public narratives, and helped turn people out to vote.

Gwen writes frequently on ethical and effective nonprofit creative and the role of data in the creative process. She has delivered presentations and trainings for Creating Change, the Nonprofit Technology Conference, the Bridge Conference, the Association of National Advertisers, and a wide range of nonprofits.
